Anti-skate control operates through tension spring and filament. 23mm diameter steel pillar, heat treated, ground and honed, carries two 17mm precision ball races, widely spaced to resist tilt. Stainless steel vertical shaft, ground and thread ground, with integral 16mm diameter flange to couple shaft and yoke. Unique assembly gives high rigidity and allows bearings to be critically adjusted before tone-arm is fitted. Axis at record mean level to minimise warp-wow. Carried in massive yoke on 10mm precision ball races. Stainless steel cross shaft, ground and thread ground. Internal constrained layer damps minute residual vibrations making tone-arm acoustically inert. Two-piece ultra-stiff tone-arm reflects sophisticated metalworking techniques. New design clamping arrangement ensures rigid junction with tone-arm. Unique pressure die-cast magnesium shell detachable and interchangeable without disturbing cartridge or wiring. Oracle SME 345 tonearms all come in silver finish with Oracle branding and MCS-150 (Mono Crystal Silver) internal wiring. The detachable magnesium head shell has a new style coupling, providing the convenience of rapid cartridge interchange without loss of rigidity. The Series 300 broadens the application of SME technology although the unique one-piece magnesium tonearm is reserved for the Series IV and V arms, advanced metal working techniques produce a fabricated arm of exceptional stiffness and at the same time allows a choice of three arm lengths to suit all decks. Inspection at every stage of manufacture and assembly is particularly critical and ensures the consistent standards. Facilities commence with design and toolmaking through all aspects of manufacturing including CNC machining, pressure die-casting, injection moulding, metal finishing, electro-plating, anodising and many other processes. To maintain the very high standards of quality all manufacture and processing is carried on 'in house'. This tonearm offers differing pivot to stylus distances and was designed for the needs of a broader market requiring alternative arm length and interchangeable shell facility.
